Unknown Male

At the end of January I will be showing an extract of my new work Unknown Male at Birmingham Rep as part of the Foundry Showcase. The piece explores how a train driver and her family cope after she experiences a 'one under'. Unfortunately these are a regular occurrence on both the underground and network and can have a devastating effect for all those involved.

Whilst searching for an image for the show I came across a picture from my home town and local station, Layton in Blackpool. It was absolutely perfect and fortunately for me the photographer,

- also a 'sandgrownun' - has granted me permission to use it.

Good old Blackpool is so much more than people give it credit for.
